High wind damage in county

High winds last week caused damage in Pomeroy and throughout Garfield County, as can be seen by the partial collapse of this old barn along Gould City-Mayview Road. Trees came down all around the county, with some damage to structures. In the Umatilla National Forest, 65 trees fell in the road between Rose Springs and Stentz Springs. Courthouse to close early Christmas Eve

eld County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) approved a 3 p.m. closure of the Garfield County Courthouse on Christmas Eve, two resolutions, and announced an anticipated date for the start of crushing at their meeting on Dec. 22. City reports water system survey satisfactory

POMEROY–The City has completed its inventory of all service lines connecting homes and buildings to the water main as required by EPA Lead and Copper Rule Revisions. It is required to identify all locations with "lead" or "galvanized needing replacement" materials.
